Let us introduce ourselves…

We are Dr. Toby Silverton and Dr. Bev McLagan of Silverton McLagan Coaching. For over 2+ decades as therapists and coaches, we have helped hundreds of clients regain happier and healthier lives. Along the way we became the reluctant burnout to balance experts! How did we end up with this dubious distinction?...

…We were busy professionals, busy women, very busy, living overwhelming, pressured, over-stressed, highly achieving and successful lives. We juggled a thriving private practice, teaching commitments, graduate schools, the business- end of business, writing books and articles, aging parents, sick animals, family life, and anything else we could squeeze into the mix.

At the same time we were becoming ‘experts’ in an entirely different area of womens’ lives (self-identity and eating disorders), we were also unknowingly becoming long-term burnouts, chalking up burnout points with every “yes” we said. When we finally woke up and smelled the coffee (and not just for the caffeine jolt) we decided to change our lives. We developed our own way to go from burnout to balance to bliss.
